Volume 1 of One Piece, titled “Romance Dawn,” marks the explosive beginning of one of the greatest adventure sagas ever told.

The story follows Monkey D. Luffy, a carefree but determined boy who dreams of becoming the King of the Pirates. After accidentally eating the mysterious Gum-Gum Devil Fruit, Luffy gains the incredible ability to stretch his body like rubber — but loses the ability to swim forever.

Inspired by the legendary pirate Shanks, who entrusts him with his treasured straw hat, Luffy sets out to sea in search of the ultimate treasure known as the “One Piece.” Along the way, he faces dangerous pirates, ruthless villains, and begins forming the crew that will one day become the Straw Hat Pirates.
